A poll at the Springfield Honors Academy showed that students eat school lunch/breakfast even though the dislike is high.

The poll put in place at Springfield Honors Academy shows results of a 3.68 percentage of kids enjoy the lunch being served at their school.

“I have tasted it and it’s not horribly  but I can see why students don’t want to eat it” Said Ms.Santaniello a teacher at the academy.

The poll produced was taken by 123 students out of a class of 179 with a  4 percent margin of error, meaning the confidence level is at 95 percent. Which would mean 95 times out of 100 the poll would come out correctly.

Thought the poll does have a 4 percent margin of error the dislike for lunch in total is 40.44 percent and the percentage of kids that eat is 28.15 percent. More than half of the students that dislike school lunch eat it everyday.

Students of SHA explain their thoughts on the situation, and why students eat lunch even when the dislike is so high.

“There are athletes that need to eat because they have a long day and if they were not to eat they’d pass out” Said Aviane Lozada a Junior at SHA.

Despite students disliking the lunch provided they force themselves to eat since most athletes won’t get home until seven at night; and for such a long day they need to eat even if they highly dislike the choices.

Springfield Honors academy is set up within another high school (Commerce) because of the lack of four full years, so this results with school lunches being brought up to SHA after being cooked.

“Downstairs seems to be more fresh than up here” Said Ms.Hersey another teacher at SHA.

Teacher and students can  see the difference between lunches if they have already been cooked and now packed, to be brought upstairs to the academy.

“I guess I’m excited that you all are taking interest since this has been a topic since you guys got here, so I’m glad to see this is a topic and that you guys are using your voices”  Says another teacher at the academy.
